Possession & Use
Registered patients can legally use medical cannabis and products.
Possession within legal limits + valid Patient ID is presumed lawful.
Devices used for consumption are also protected under state law.
Patients/caregivers may hold up to 28 MMCEUs at one time.

Non-consumables (lotions, ointments, soaps, etc.): No limits.
Transporting Cannabis
Patients and caregivers may transport cannabis if:
It is within legal limits
Remains sealed in retail packaging
Kept out of sight while driving
Prohibited Uses
Public Use
Consuming medical cannabis in public places or vehicles is prohibited.
“Public Places” refer to streets, sidewalks, churches, public transportation areas, and government-owned properties (city, county, state, or federal).
Tip: Private homes are not considered public places.
Open Containers
Possessing an open container of medical cannabis while operating a motor vehicle is illegal.
Tip: Cannabis should remain sealed in its original, retail packaging during transportation.
Correctional Facilities
Possession or use within a correctional facility is not allowed unless explicitly permitted by the facility.
